Ghana Mission Trip 2024

Step by Step Worldwide Ministries currenlty has two homes in Ejisu Kwaso (near Kumasi) for children who are differently abled.  They range from 2 years old to 15 years old with just as many differences in their abilities.  Many of the children were abandoned due to the level of care they need, some were turned over by loving families who just could not support them but continue to visit.

This trip is targeting people with pediatric training in the areas of occupational, physical and speech therapy and someone with early education training.  The goal is to evaluate the 16 children and develop what we will call "home care package" of recommended therapies for the child.  You will then spend time demonstrating these recommendations to the staff and directors.  The home  currently cares for a total of 16 children and have a growing staff to accommodate new arrivals (currently at 12).  

There will also be opportunity for evangelism through the showing of the "Jesus Film Project".  This is a movie that will be shown in the local language most likely at a soccer field in cooperation with local churches.

To provide ample time for travel, evaluation and training (and a bit of fun), an outing with the ambulatory children, fellowship with the directors and caregivers on this 14-day trip.  You may expect a trip cost in the area of $2200 based on airfare expectations of $1800.  Trip Cost includes everything airport to destination and back. Airfare, housing, food, ground transportation in country, costs related to planned activities and miscellaneous costs.  VIM strongly encourages all participants to fundraise in their community of contacts.
